Fisheries - Stock assessment and fisheries research

Through its links with the Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science, Rhodes University, senior consultants are actively involved with stock assessment, distribution mapping and fisheries research in marine, brackish and freshwater systems on a global level.

The company has been involved with projects covering a diverse range of species, including fishes, crustaceans, molluscs and planktonic resources, on a wide range of scales. These have included assessments for potential to develop subsistence fisheries in freshwater lakes and dams, to large-scale commercial and recreational marine fisheries and multi-species biodiversity assessments. GIS-based distribution mapping and fish collections have been undertaken for a number of estuaries, river systems and coastal regions in Southern Africa.
